Why do we get stiff as we age?
Many golfers get frustrated as they age because they lose distance and power in their golf swing, usually caused by poor mobility.
As we move into our 50s and beyond we lose some of our basic functional mobility required to execute a good golf shot (bending from hips, upper lower body separation, shoulder turn, arm extension).This is mostly due to a more sedentary lifestyle and less attention to daily movement, good posture and proper breathing.
Our "fascia" gets drier, becoming more thick and sticky, which restricts our ability to move in the full range of motion our joints were meant to.
